‘Hazardous for residents’

This is an internal, one kilometre road that connects the airport’s domestic and international terminals. There is a small residential colony on this road, as well as a school. This pothole ridden, cracked road is a hazard for the students.

“We have to ride really slow. When it rains hard, we can’t even walk on this road as the dirty water from the potholes splashes on us,” said Vasant Rahate (28), a biker.

“We face many problems on this road. Children have to wade through dirty water to reach school,” said Raju Avghade (34), a rickshaw driver. “During peak hours, there is always a traffic jam.” Residents blame the Airports Authority of India for the plight of this road.
