HC to pronounce 2003 blasts verdict on Dec 12

The hearing on the reference for confirmation of death sentences handed down to three convicts for their role in the 2003 twin blasts in the city was concluded on Saturday. The blasts killed 52 people and injured 244 others.

The hearing on the reference for confirmation of death sentences handed down to three convicts for their role in the 2003 twin blasts in the city was concluded on Saturday. The blasts killed 52 people and injured 244 others.

The division bench of justice AM Khanwilkar and justice PD Kode of the Bombay high court will pronounce the verdict on December 12, said advocate Wahab Khan, who is defending one of the convicts in the case.

The Mumbai police crime branch had arrested six people in connection with the case. While one of them became an approver, two accused — Mohammed Hasan Batterywala and Mohammed Ansari Laddoowala — were discharged by the POTA Review Committee in December 2008.
