HT circulation manager passes away
Sunny Thomas, 37, HT Media Limited’s regional manager for circulation in Mumbai, collapsed and died while playing badminton here on Sunday.
Sunny Thomas, 37, HT Media Limited’s regional manager for circulation in Mumbai, collapsed and died while playing badminton here on Sunday.
Thomas is survived by his wife Rose and nine-year-old daughter Catherine. Thomas and some of his colleagues were at the Matunga Gymkhana for the team selection for an upcoming tournament.
He played a couple of practice matches before the selection trials started at around 1 pm. Thomas collapsed on the court just minutes into the selection trials. He was given first aid by the in-house medics at the gymkhana before being rushed to the Sion Hospital, where he was declared dead before admission. D
octors at the Sion hospital said he suffered a massive cardiac arrest. Sunny, a fitness freak, was popular with his colleagues and peers. His body will be flown to his hometown Bhilai on Monday.
