Kalyan cop caught taking Rs 1 lakh bribe

Police Inspector Murlidhar Vispute, Anti-Corruption Unit, Thane said: “Santosh Pandey (48), the complainant, approached the Anti-Corruption unit claiming that the crime branch has received a complaint against him that Ghag is investigating.”

“Ghag allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh and finally agreed at Rs 1 lakh to settle the matter. After Pandey informed the Anti-Corruption unit, a trap was laid to catch Ghag accepting the bribe from Pandey.”

Pandey was arrested four months ago by the Mahatma Phule Police under the Immigration Act.

He is facing trial for cheating more than 100 youngsters of lakhs of rupees, by promising them lucrative jobs in Kenya and Dubai.
