The report by Nagpada police hospital, based on a medical examination conducted on March 26, states that the child has a bruise near his anus, which is two to three days old.

This means he was injured between March 23 and 24, days after the alleged incident took place.

The boy’s parents have stated that the assault took place on March 18, after which he has not been sent to school or crèche.

The police are now awaiting a detailed medical report from Nair Hospital.

“The boy was to be examined on Monday, but his parents didn’t agree so he will be examined on Wednesday. The report will ascertain the cause of the bruise,” said Dhananjay Kulkarni, DCP, zone 5.
