ACB sources said Pravin Hiraman Choudhary, the supervisor, was caught in his office on Monday while accepting the Rs-10,000 bribe.

According to the ACB, sometime ago, two minor boys had run away from their home in Uttar Pradesh and reached Mumbai. They sought employment with a hotel in Chembur.

The owner of the hotel informed an NGO, which handed over custody of the children to the children’s home. Meanwhile, the hotelier informed the children’s parents who sent a person to release them from the home.

The hotelier and the authorised person went to the children’s home and met Choudhary, who allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 as his bribe for signing the boys’ release papers.

The hotelier then went to the ACB and lodged a complaint against the bribe-seeking supervisor.
