Sreedharan had on Tuesday said that MMRDA’s Public Private Partnership (PPP) was ineffective and it should instead look at the funding model used by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The DMRC was built partly with the finds from the Centre and the Delhi government along with debt and loans from various agencies, whereas the MMRDA is using the PPP method, wherein the major funding comes from private sources and part funding from the state. The private body builds and operates the project to recover the cost.
