A few days ago, residents had approached MNS complaining that Big Bazaar was allegedly cheating customers. “Those visiting the Big Bazaar outlet at R-City mall for The Great Exchange Offer were only handed the discount coupons but were not allowed to avail the exchange offer,” said the police.

Two days ago, MNS sent a letter to Big Bazaar authorities to stop the scheme. “When the authorities did not pay any heed, MNS workers protested at the outlet on Sunday,” the police said.

“It irked the MNS volunteers to see advertisements at Big Bazaar in English. They tore the posters and damaged the outlet,” an officer said. The mall authorities told MNS workers that the scheme would be revised. “The accused have been booked for rioting and unlawful assembly,” said another officer.
