The police have recovered two half-filled cans of a chemical from near the bodies. The family is believed to have been dead for two days.

Dontaus Anthony, 49, and his wife Elizabeth, 45, may have killed their children — Jason, 12, and Vivian, 4 — before committing suicide, the police suspect.

The incident came to light around 9am when Dontaus’ older brother and his son ente-red the fifth-floor flat in Odyssey building using duplicate keys.

Dontaus had told his brother that they would be out of town and had asked him to feed their fish. Investigations revealed that the family was debt-ridden and their flat was under dispute.

The police are waiting for the post-mortem report and have registered a case of accidental death.
