Madhu Poplai, secretary of the Pali Hill residents’ association, said, “Pali Hill has been marked strictly as a residential area there’s no infrastructure to support any commercial activity here.”
The residents got alarmed after Rishi’s actor son Ranbir, in an interview to a newspaper, detailed the new plans for Krishna Raj, including a preview theatre.
Poplai said: “We are not opposed to redevelopment of their bungalow. However, if they (Kapoors) build a 160 seater preview theatre, where will these visitors park their cars?” Rishi’s wife, actress Neetu Singh, however, dismissed the report.
“There are no such plans to convert our bungalow into a 16 storey or even have a preview theatre. We want to renovate it because it’s old. However, I wonder where do these residents get ideas from a preview theatre and a high-rise!”
She added that plans were yet to be drawn on how to redevelop the iconic bungalow. “We are still looking at how to utilise the FSI that we would get.”
The association claims it has sent a letter to Rishi informing him about their opposition a fortnight ago, but he hasn’t replied. into high rise
