In the first case representatives from Chirag Corporation lodged a complaint on December 17. They alleged that out of a consignment of 200 Samsung marine mobiles they had exported to London on December 10, 50 phones worth around Rs 2 lakh were found missing.

The police kept the missing phones on their radar using their International Mobile Equipment Identification numbers. “Some of the phones were active. Following which the accused were traced and arrested,” said DCP (Zone VIII), Brijesh Singh.

The accused allegedly worked as loaders at the cargo section and had stolen the phones while loading the cargo.

In the other case, two loaders were arrested for stealing Rs 2 lakh from the bag of the proprietor of Akbar Travels, when he was on his way to Cochin, from Sahar Airport on February 15, on an Air-India flight. The police recovered the money from them.
