According to the data available with the hydraulic department, Tulsi lake reached its mark of 139.18 m and overflowed at 6 am today while Modak Sagar lake crossed its 163.04 m mark and overflowed at 8 am this morning.

"It is good sign that lakes are overflowing but it would be early to withdraw water cuts. The cuts will remain till August 15 as Bhatsa, which is the largest supplier, has reached a mark of 121.70 against its actual limit of 142.07 m.," a civic official from the Hydraulic Department said.

Even other lakes like Upper Vaitarna and Vihar have not reached their actual limit, the official said.

Presently, all the six lakes together have 5,95,419 million litres of water compared to 6,75,267 million litres of water at the same time last year.

"We are hoping for incessant rainfall in the catchments areas so that there is some sufficient amount of water in all the six lakes by August 15," the official said.

According to the data, Upper Vaitarna Lake has 597.02 m of water against its limit of 603.51 m and Vihar Lake has 77.69 m against its limit of 80.12 m.
