Every time a helicopter flew over Anand and Meenakshi Rajgor’s one-room home in a Nalasopara chawl, the couple would wonder how the city would appear from the sky. On Tuesday, their curiosity was put to rest when they boarded a four-seater chopper for a 20-minute joy ride.

On Tuesday, their curiosity was put to rest when they boarded a four-seater chopper for a 20-minute joy ride.
The Rajgors were among the 100-odd couples who took aerial tours from Juhu for Valentine’s Day. “When my wife learnt that I had spent Rs 11,000 for the ride she skipped a meal out of nervousness. She was happy after the experience,” said Anand, 44, who works in a garment store in Dadar.
Information Technology professional Viral Daiya surprised his wife by driving to the Juhu aerodrome instead of the promised movie hall. “We will never forget the aerial view of the Bandra-Worli Sea link,” said the Borivli resident.
Chopper bookings on Valentine’s Day have increased five-fold compared to 2009 when they first began. “This year the bookings came from couples across ages. We had a 72-year-old flying with her 90-year-old mother,” said Nikesh Goswami, director, Wings N Rotors.
