"The flight IT-313 left for Delhi leaving us stranded at the airport. The airline officer says that the flight was overbooked due to which we could not get a seat in the aircraft," a passenger said.
All the held-up passengers reported on time for the flight scheduled at 8.45pm, but around 7.55pm the airline official informed them that the flight was over-booked.
When contacted the Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson said over-booking is a norm in the industry and the airline was trying to make arrangements to fly the passengers to their destination.
The spokesperson, however, did not say when the stranded passengers would fly.
