The Shiv Sena has re-nominated its sitting Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Deepak Sawant. With the Congress yet to announce its candidate, the other nominee is Lok Satta Party’s Surendra Srivastava.

The MLC elections are scheduled to be next month. It provides graduates of Mumbai, who have completed their degree prior to December 1, 2008, an opportunity to vote every six years.
