Passenger hurt as coach hits airport parking bay pillar

An Air India passenger was injured when the coach ferrying people hit a pillar while it was approaching the parking bay at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai today, official sources said. The driver is absconding.

The incident occurred around 10.20 a m when the passengers who arrived here from Trivandrum by an Air India Express IX-502 disembarked and were being driven to the arrival hall.

The coach full of passengers hit a pillar railing under parking bay No 48. This resulted in the hydraulic door of the coach getting damaged and hitting a passenger who was riding the coach.

The passenger was immediately attended to by an airport doctor.

Airport authorities have confiscated the permit of the coach, which the driver abandoned and ran away.
