Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Rakesh Maria claimed that the sketches of two of the three assailants had been prepared and the police was “pretty close” to a breakthrough. He declined to elaborate on the leads. “It is too early to say anything,” Maria said.
He also declined to comment on the motive behind the killing. “We are exploring all probable reasons,” Maria said. He also refused to comment on the underworld’s involvement in the murder.
