RBI fixes reference rates for US dollar, Euro

The Reserve Bank of India today fixed the reference rates for the US currency at Rs 46.71 per dollar and Euro at Rs 59.76 per euro, as against Rs 46.48 per dollar and Rs 60.01 per euro, respectively on Monday.

In a press release issued by the apex bank, the exchange rate of pound and yen against the rupee is Rs 71.7816 per pound and Rs 55.59 per 100 yen, respectively, based on the reference rate of the US dollar and middle rates of the cross currency quotes at noon.

The reference rate is based on 12 noon rates of select banks in Mumbai and the SDR-Rupee rate will be based on this rate, the release added.
