The schemes require Below Poverty Line cards and other proofs before granting of benefits. Activist Deepika D’souza moved the HC in 2009 after the death of the third child of a homeless woman. Under Janani Suraksha Yojana, Rs 600 is given to the mother for institutional delivery but the benefit is given for first two deliveries. htc
