Foiling a robbery bid, the DCP special squad arrested three men outside Mamaji jewellers on Linking Road in Khar on Friday.

The police recovered a country-made revolver, a chopper, a knife and a stolen car from Ramkunj Choudhary, Sachin Mandal and Toufiq Malik.

The robbers had come in a Lancer to rob the jewellery shop. When they saw the police, two of the men fled.

During interrogation, the police learnt that the car in had been stolen from Versova. “Choudhary was working as a driver for a Versova businessman. Last week he stole the car and a case was lodged with the police,” said DCP KMM Prasanna.
