School bus hits Qualis

A tragedy was averted on Monday after a school bus and a Qualis collided on Service Road near Teen Hath Naka in Thane (W). Susamma Kurian reports.

A tragedy was averted on Monday after a school bus and a Qualis collided on Service Road near Teen Hath Naka in Thane (W).

Though there were 16 students of Nalanda Public School, Mulund, in the bus and five in the Qualis, no one was injured. Both drivers were reportedly speeding in a bid to overtake each other.

“The accident took place while the bus was trying to take a left turn and the speeding Qualis collided with it. Both drivers are at fault,” said Naupada’s police sub-inspector Pallavi Gugale. The drivers were arrested.
