Stepbrother kills 8-yr-old
An 8-year-old boy was brutally murdered by his 29-year-old stepbrother over a property dispute in Murbad on Sunday. Police have arrested the stepbrother after the boy’s mother filed a complaint at Murbad police station.

PI Ashok Worlikar, Murbad police station, said according to Malata Mangal Shelke, 45, on Sunday, August 28, her stepson Ravi Shelke, 29, had taken her son Rohan, 8, to their paddy farm. When Rohan didn’t return by evening, Malata went to look for him and found his body lying in the farm. Ravi was nowhere in sight.
Police said they arrested Ravi, who confessed to the crime and even took the police to the spot where he dumped Rohan’s body. The body has been sent for a post mortem.
“We are awaiting the medical report, after which our investigation can follow in the right direction,” said a police officer.
