The complainant in the case told the court that three men opened fire at Kumar outside his office on August 1997.

According to the prosecution, Sheikh is one of the main conspirators. He was present at all the meetings which took place in Dubai when the conspiracy was hatched to kill Kumar.

The meetings allegedly took place in the office of Anees Ibrahim.

Sheikh is alleged to be a close aide of Abu Salem, at whose behest the Kumar was murdered. Salem is still shown as an absconding accused as Portugal treaty did not mention this trial.

The prosecution has said they would examine nine witnesses against Sheikh.
