However, police have detained two men in connection to the case, with respect to a firecracker manufacturing shop that was in the building, he said.
“The police arrested Shakti Gavai, the person who leased the house, and Amit Gurunani, the son of the firecrackers manufacturer. The manufacturer Manohar, who died in the incident, was storing explosive material needed to prepare firecrackers in the building. But he told Gavai that he had stored coloured sand (Rangoli),” Patil said. Gurunani’s workshop at Dindori has also been sealed.
An FIR was registered against five persons under various IPC sections and relevant sections of the Explosive Substance Act. The police will crack down on all those who stock fire crackers, police commissioner Vinod Lokhande said.
