No one was injured in the incident.
The shooters are suspected to be members of the Ravi Pujari gang.
At 4.30 pm, two unidentified men entered the compound where Perfect Travel Agency is located on Khar 14th Road and tried to give the owner, Janak Aswani, a packet.
When Aswani refused to take the packet, one of the men removed a firearm from his pocket and opened fire.
“The packet had Ravi Pujari’s name written on it. When Aswani refused to take the packet one of the men fired at him, but the bullet got stuck. The man then fired one round in the air and fled,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police K.M.M. Prasanna.
Besides Aswani, no one else saw the two men, the police said.
Additional commissioner of Police (West region) Amitabh Gupta said: “It appears to be a case of mistaken identity. We are investigating the matter.”
