Univ faculty unhappy with some VC candidates

The University’s faculty members are going to write to Governor K Sankaranarayanan, who is also the chancellor of universities, to reconsider some of the candidates shortlisted by the search committee for the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai.

The University’s faculty members are going to write to Governor K Sankaranarayanan, who is also the chancellor of universities, to reconsider some of the candidates shortlisted by the search committee for the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai.

The shortlisted candidates will give their presentations to the search committee on July 2. Faculty members claimed that some of the 25 candidates did not meet the eligibility criteria.

For VC post, a candidate must have a Ph.D with a 15-year experience in teaching/research and a minimum of five research publications in peer reviewed or international journals post PhD. The candidate must have five years of administrative experience in higher education and execution of minimum one major research project.
