WR services hit on Rail budget day
While the Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee was announcing the railway budget on Wednesday, services on the Western Railway (WR) were hit after a unit of a local train’s coach encountered a problem.

“There was a technical snag and so the train stopped abruptly,” said a spokesperson from Western Railway.
The problem occurred at 1.20 pm when a local train running towards Borivli, halted soon after leaving the Jogeshwari station.
This led to chaos, as the train did not move for 50 minutes, resulting in bunching of trains. Soon, other local trains had to be diverted on the parallel local line going towards Churchgate.
This also delayed the trains going towards Churchgate. The problem was finally solved after the technical-snag hit train was taken to the yard.
Five trains had to be cancelled, while other local trains were running late by nearly 20 minutes.
