It’s been more than a week since local trains on the western line have been delayed by 10-15 minutes. The speed restriction on trains running between Churchgate and Marine Line stations is set at about 10kmph.

Meanwhile, train services on the Central Railway (CR) went in for a toss during evening peak hours after a local train entered a wrong platform.

At around 5.15 pm, a Dadar local to CST, was to terminate at platform five and return as Dadar-Kalyan local.

However, the motorman wrongly took the train to platform six; the platform for CST bound fast trains. This led to confusion among commuters standing on platform five in addition to train operations on CR collapsing.

The train ran empty up to CST and was then brought back into operations. “This led to delay in services by 20 minutes. However, it was rectified later,” said V Malegaonkar, chief PRO, CR.
