Santoor player Rahul Sharma has pulled off quite a coup as far as music albums are concerned. Not only has the young son of the legendary Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma roped in Grammy award-winning saxophone player Kenny G for his next album, he has also managed to get Amitabh Bachchan to speak on a song.

Says Kenny, “Rahul, who’s an extremely talented musician, worked with me on the album a year ago, and we’ve got the voice of the Indian actor, Amitabh Bachchan, on a song.”
Sharma confirms the same: “I can’t give away everything about the song at the moment, but yes, it is a collaboration between Amitabhji, Kenny and me. I had got in touch with Amitabhji for the song and we decided to use his voice from one of his existing films on the number.
"So the song has Amitabhji speaking dialogues, complimented by the santoor and saxophone. It’s turned out to be a beautiful track."
The duet album by the two musicians will release in the next couple of months because both are busy with their solo releases this month. While Sharma has just released his landmark 50th album, Rainchanted, Kenny has come out with his 13th album, Heart and Soul.
The musician duo met at Kenny’s concert in India a couple of years ago and hit it off. “We spoke at the concert and after I came back, we sent each other our music, and that’s how we decided to do a duet album. There are seven-eight songs in it, and I’m looking forward to the release.”
