The contest Live Night in the Vineyard is an initiative started by Aloft to cater to their urban guests. “Our guests are tastemakers, who thrive on creative energy. We think they’ll get very engaged in this competition.
I bet some of them will even enter their own bands,” says Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. Till August 13, Project Aloft Star will accept artistes’ music videos through a contest on Facebook. The videos must be acoustic performances of original material.
Three top bands will then be selected, based on votes received from Facebook users, Aloft guests and artistes from Live in the Vineyard. A second round of voting will determine the winner on September 20.
On stage The Live Night in the Vineyard concert will be held on November 13. The winner will perform alongside other contemporary acts before the music industry’s top moghuls. The contest offers a platform to perform on a stage that has seen acts like Macy Gray, Colbie Caillat and Melissa Etheridge.
