CHANDIGARH: A 25-year-old youth, suspected to be a cattle smuggler, was killed in police firing and two of his accomplices were held in Mahendergarh district on Wednesday. Mahendergarh SP Hamid Akhtar said a police team was rushed to chase the accused after a tip-off that a group of cattle smugglers had stolen a cow and a bull. He said when the police overtook the accused, they pelted beer bottles and stones, causing injuries to four cops. Firing between the two groups led to Kalu’s death.
