NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court issued a notice to the central and state governments on Wednesday on a petition seeking establishment of Lokpal — an anti-corruption ombudsman — at the Centre and Lokayuktas in states. Petitioner Ashwani Upadhayay said he moved the court because the governments failed to appoint the ombudsman in the spirit of the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013.
