DM is also going to go through the advisory for schools prepared by the Gurgaon police to ensure the safety of students at schools.

District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar will hold a meeting with the Noida and Greater Noida school authorities and management this week, following the murder of an eight-year-old boy who was found murdered in the premises of Ryan International School in Gurgaon.

District magistrate (DM) BN Singh will be meeting the authorities of Noida schools on September 13 and Greater Noida on September 16. The management and trustees of schools are also asked to attend the meeting because Singh wants to make it clear to them that they are equally responsible for the safety and welfare of students like the principals and teachers.

“We will be meeting the principals, teachers and management of schools in Noida and Greater Noida to discuss the safety of students. We want to ensure every possible measure to avoid any mishap. We have asked the management of the schools too to attend the meeting because it’s not only the principal who is responsible for students, they also need to take the responsibility,” said Singh.

DM is also going to go through the advisory for schools prepared by the Gurgaon police to ensure the safety of students at schools. The advisory has suggested precautions and actions schools should take to make sure kids are safe inside and outside the premises. “We will be getting a copy of the advisory that has been issued by the Gurgaon police. If there are any suggestions which can benefit schools and students in GB Nagar, we will apply them as well,” added Singh.

The meeting will be held with both government and private school authorities. The points which will be discussed to ensure the safety will include building plans, installation of CCTV cameras, verification of school staff, and availability of separate toilets for boys, girls, staff and for visitors.

DM has been roping in corporate firms to contribute in improving basic school education and facilities in government schools under the Corporate Social Responsibility. Corporate firms have come forward to fund the infrastructure development in schools like building toilets, libraries, etc.

The eight-year-old boy was found dead, with his throat slit and lying in a pool of blood in a washroom of Ryan International School in Gurugram on Friday. He was allegedly killed by a bus conductor who also tried to sexually abuse the minor. The bus conductor was later arrested in connection with the murder of a second grader.
