DND to remain toll-free for 6 hours daily for auto expo

Anwar Abbasi, spokesperson for DND Flyway, said that for five days during the Auto Expo, the Delhi-Noida-Delhi road will be toll free from 8 am to 10 am for traffic moving from Delhi to Noida and from 5 pm to 9 pm for traffic from Noida to Delhi.

“These toll-free hours will be for the Noida toll plaza and not for the toll plaza on the Mayur Vihar side. The commercial vehicles will pay entry toll tax to the MCD as well other government taxes. It has been done to ensure a smooth ride to the Auto Expo venue,” he said.

According to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), they have tied up with the DND management for five days of free ride on the DND expressway.

“During the toll-free hours, there will no traffic jams on DND since vehicles will not have to stop at the toll plaza. We have already paid the money to the DND operator,” said a SIAM official.

Not only the visitors to the expo, the toll-free hours will be blessing for thousands of residents of Delhi who commute daily through this road link to reach their workplaces in Noida and Greater Noida.

SIAM said that they are expecting a turnout of nearly 7 lakh during the five-day automobile show.
