Minor Dalit girl abducted, gang-raped by two men in Jewar
The two men allegedly forced the girl to drink alcohol and then assaulted her.
A 16-year-old Dalit girl from Jewar area in Greater Noida has alleged that she was gang-raped by two men on the evening of August 24 in a jungle area of Khurja after being abducted by them on a motorcycle.

The victim’s father approached the police on August 29 stating that his daughter has claimed that the two accused belong to a particular higher caste. Based on the complaint, the police have lodged a case of gangrape under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) as well as Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) Act.
According to the police, around 5pm on August 24, the girl was returning home on foot from Bankapur village after attending a training class. “The victim has claimed that on her way home from her tailoring classes, when two men stopped her on the main road and forcibly made her sit on their motorcycle. The duo then took her to Khurja and stopped near a jungle area. The victim claims that she was forced to consume alcohol after which the two allegedly raped her,” SS Bhati, station house officer, Jewar police station, said.
“When my daughter did not return till late in the evening, we started searching for her. Around 11pm, when we returned home, we found her lying unconscious in front of our main door. She reeked of liquor. After regaining consciousness, she narrated her ordeal, stating that the two men dropped her back in front of our house,” the girl’s father said.
“Her medical test has been conducted. However, it is not yet confirmed whether it is a case of rape,” Sharad Chand Sharma, circle officer, Jewar, said.
The police said that teams have been formed to arrest the accused and also probe the caste angle as alleged by her family.
