Noida: Flower show ushers in spring in the NCR
The New Delhi Municipal Corporation, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Bharat Petroleum, Kotah House, Greater Noida authority, Yamuna Expressway authority, Kumar Mangalam House, Hero Motors, Hero Moto Corp, Delhi Public School, Somerville School, DS Group and many other corporate houses are participating in the flower show that will end on February 26 evening.
The Noida authority and floriculture society of Noida started its 31st annual flower show at Noida Stadium in Sector 21A on Friday.

Radhika Agarwal, wife of Noida chief executive officer Deepak Agarwal, inaugurated the three-day flower show. The event gives an opportunity for residents to showcase their gardening skills.
The New Delhi Municipal Corporation, Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Bharat Petroleum, Kotah House, Greater Noida authority, Yamuna Expressway authority, Kumar Mangalam House, Hero Motors, Hero Moto Corp, Delhi Public School, Somerville School, DS Group and many other corporate houses are participating in the flower show that will end on February 26 evening.

The flower show will be open from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday. Entry to event is free for all.
The event has competitions for residents in categories such as terrace garden, landscaping of flowers, gardening, art on tree leaves, and painting on vegetables.
“Those who enjoy kitchen or terrace gardening and love flowers or trees -- this event is for them. They can come with their families to enjoy music, food and nature,” Omvir Singh, director horticulture of Noida, said.
On Friday the authority arranged folk music for visitors.
On Saturday, food and flower stalls of different varieties will be open to visitors. A poetry recital will be also held at 7.30pm Saturday.

Painting and dancing events for children will be organised on Sunday.
Participants from other NCR cities too have put up their stalls with plants, flowers and food on sale.
“We have prizes for children who participate in art and paining competitions on Sunday. We will also honour our terrace garden winners with prizes,” Singh said.
Pratibha Raman, wife of Rama Raman, the principal secretary of UP industrial development department and chairman of the Noida authority, will distribute the prizes.
“Many residents maintain beautiful terrace gardens. By honouring them, we want to encourage others too,” Singh said.
