10 baseball players injured in road accident in Orissa

Ten baseball players were injured when their bus hit the railing of Kathajodi river bridge in Cuttack on Saturday, police said.

Police said the baseball players were travelling from Puri to Cuttack to participate in State Baseball Championship to be played at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack from Sunday.

As the minibus driver lost control owing to some technical trouble, it hit the barricade partly twisting the railing.

The injured were immediately rushed to nearby SCB medical college and hospital but were stated to be out of danger.

Fifty-two members of the team, including officials, were in the vehicle.

Traffic on the NH was paralysed for some time following the mishap.
