India's challenge in the India Grand Prix badminton tournament ended in all categories with PV Sindhu, P. Kashyap and the duo of Ashwini Ponappa and Tarun Kona losing their semifinal matches on Saturday. Up against Fransiska Ratnasari of Indonesia, Sindhu put up a fight in the first game.

Trailing 7-14, the Indian stepped up the pressure to contain the fifth seed. Her efforts bore fruit as she clinched eight consecutive points and sealed the game at 21-17. The second game was more about the Indonesian's agility. She repeatedly brought Sindhu at the net and was able to beat her consistently, which took away Sindhu's confidence.

The Indian failed to get back into the rhythm and lost the third game.
