Expo ’09 to begin from Feb 12

The Fourth National Trade Fair ‘Expo-2009’ to be jointly organised by NICE and Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh will begin from February 12 at Patliputra Colony ground in Patna, reports HT Correspondent.

The Fourth National Trade Fair ‘Expo-2009’ to be jointly organised by National Industrial and Consumer Exhibition (NICE) and Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh will begin from February 12 at Patliputra Colony ground in Patna. Entrepreneurs from different parts of the country and abroad will participate in the Expo. The fair will conclude on February 25.

Addressing a joint Press conference here, managing director of NICE Sabbir Ahmad said: “Around 250 stalls would be put up at the Expo. Several companies of the corporate sectors, insurance firms and banks will also participate in it. However, due to some problems, the stalls from Pakistan and Bangladesh will not participate in the fair this time.” Products made of handloom and handicraft, garments, cosmetics, ornaments, carpet, Chinese furniture, agriculture items, electric and automobile items, building material, chemical, leather products, plastic items, stationary goods, items related to information technology, computers, home appliances, confectionary, food items, etc, will be put up for sale at the Expo,” Chief Executive Officer of NICE Rishi Raj said.

“The organisers have also made arrangements for different category prizes for the visitors. The fair will continue from 11 am to 9 pm every day with lucky draws every hour. Besides, the visitors can also win two-wheeler, computer, colour TV set, kitchen chimney and other valuable prizes through a mega draw. There will also be a cultural programme, seminar, etc, for the entertainment of the visitors,” he added.

President of Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh Pushpa Chopra said a separate ‘Bihar Pavilion’ would be put up at the fair where items made by woman entrepreneurs will be up for sale. Secretary of the Sangh Usha Jha and others were also present on the occasion.
