Maoists blast rail tracks in Katihar-Barauni section

Armed Maoists today blasted railway tracks between Kursela and Bakhri railway stations in Katihar-Barauni section of the East Central Railway disrupting rail traffic for over three hours.

Armed Maoists today blasted railway tracks between Kursela and Bakhri railway stations in Katihar-Barauni section of the East Central Railway disrupting rail traffic for over three hours.

The Naxalites triggered dynamites to blast the tracks at a spot between Kursela and Bakhri in Khagaria district early Saturday morning affecting movement of trains, including the New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, official sources said.

Besides the Rajdhani Express, the Kamakhya-Mumbai Express, Sealdah-Saharsa Express and Katihar-Patna Intercity Express were stranded at Katihar and Barauni stations for three hours till the tracks were repaired, they said.
