Patna: Hit by vehicle, woman traffic constable battling for life

In a critical condition, Jha managed to speak in a feeble voice to newsmen, narrating her woes and how she was forced to withdraw her case against the erring driver, who had knocked her down while she was managing a traffic post at Hartali roundabout.

As a cop, I was doing my duty when the accident took place. The erring driver should be punished,she said. In last four days, Jha's condition has not improved.

Meanwhile, Patna SSP Manu Maharaj visited the nursing home on Friday and assured the woman constable of all possible help through police welfare fund. Maharaj also said the police had arrested the accused driver. A case has been lodged against the driver with S K Puri police station. We will provide the woman constable financial support,he added.
