Today the fest is one of the world’s premier Goth events. It’s become so popular over the years that since 1997 it’s been made biannual. It’s held in April and October (during Halloween) every year. (AP)

Tickets this year were priced at £65 for the weekend and £34 for individual days. The event is said to contribute over £1 million in annual income for the town of Whitby. (AFP)
