It was disappointment for India in men's 10m air rifle as Arjun Babuta narrowly missed out on bronze. However, happy news came later in the day as Manika Batra became the first from the country to reach the round of 16 of any singles table tennis at the Olympics. Meanwhile, Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh qualified for the bronze medal match in mixed team 10m air pistol and the former thus has a chance at winning an unprecedented second medal at the same Olympics.  (AP)

Babuta remained in the medal places for much of the men's 10m air rifle final. However, his last shot was a 9.5, the worst of the day for him and that confirmed fourth spot for him.  (WeAreTeamIndia- )

India conceded early against Argentina and were struggling to make incisive attacking moves for much of the game after that. However, captain Harmanpreet Singh came clutch at the end of the penultimate minute of the match, converting a penalty corner and thus sealing a 1-1 draw.  (PTI)
