Photos: Eiffel Tower to reopen in Paris, but prepare to take the stairs

The Eiffel Tower in Paris is preparing to welcome visitors back to its mesmerising views after its longest closure since WWII due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Those eyeing a visit best be fit and in the mood for some exercise because the elevators will initially be off-limits. As part of social distancing measures, the monument will only take in limited numbers of tourists initially and masks will remain compulsory for all above age 11. The Eiffel tower reopens on June 25, and hopes to normalize operations later in the summer.
