Photos: Manson murders grip tourists and Tarantino 50 years on

Fifty years ago--on successive nights in August 1969, the so-called Manson family murder, Charles Manson dispatched a group of disaffected young hippie followers on a two-night killing spree that terrorized Los Angeles and in the years since has come to represent the face of evil. Today America's morbid fascination with the dark side of Tinseltown have brought many tourists to the Cileo Drive house where movie star Sharon Tate and five others were killed. It also plays as the backdrop of Quentin Tarantino’s 9th film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood"

The film features Margot Robbie as an innocent and carefree Tate, and has intensified interest in a tragedy often described as a seminal moment in US history -- the end of the 1960s era of peace and love.
