488 Pune residents booked for drunken driving in a special drive by traffic police

According to the traffic police department, most of the offenders were booked under Motor Vehicle Act Section 85, and the cases have been sent to the motor vehicles court at Shivajinagar for further action.

The Pune traffic branch has booked 488 persons for driving under the influence of alcohol during a special two-day drive conducted across the city from August 11 to August 12.

According to the traffic police department, most of the offenders were booked under Motor Vehicle Act Section 85, and the cases have been sent to the motor vehicles court at Shivajinagar for further action.

The traffic branch, in a stated, stated that action was taken against offenders who had consumed alcohol and were found driving in an inebriated condition. Traffic police maintained that drunken driving was one of the prominent reasons behind the increasing number of traffic accidents in Pune.
