Externed Pune man molests minor girl on Valentine’s Day

The complaint in the case was filed by the girl’s mother

A 26-year-old man, with a criminal record, was booked for molesting a 17-year-old girl on Wednesday evening. The accused was identified as Akash Raju Kale, a resident of Link road in Chinchwad.

The police filed a case under Sections 354 (molestation), 354(a) (sexual harassment) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 8 (punishment for sexual assault) and 12 (punishment for sexual harassment) of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act against Kale at Chinchwad police station. Police sub inspector (PSI) RJ Dhere of Chinchwad police station is investigating the case.

The complaint in the case was filed by the girl's mother. On Valentine's Day, Kale approached the girl and made lewd gestures at her, while under the influence of alcohol, according to the complaint. Kale then went to the girl's house and yelled expletives at her family members.

Kale was externed from the city as a part of preventive action and had recently returned to Pune. The Chinchwad police are looking for Kale who is on the run.
