A woman allegedly killed her 19- year-old daughter in Baramati on Tuesday after being frustrated over constant fights and arguments with her over domestic issues, police said.

Narayan Shirgavkar, senior divisional police officer, Baramati rural police division, said that the daughter had solemnised her marriage outsider her caste which was against the wishes of her family. Disputes broke out between the couple within a year, after which they started staying separately.

“The victim’s parents tried to help the couple reconcile, but the husband refused to stay with Rutuja. Earlier, Rutuja had lodged a rape case against her husband which worsened the matter. Her mother also intervened in the matter and told the husband that they would withdraw the case, if he stays with Rutuja, which he flatly refused,” Shirgavkar said.
