Pune man held for repeatedly raping 13-year-old stepdaughter

Police officials said that the minor girl has been staying with the accused since 2015. The accused runs a snacks stall at an IT company and also works as a part-time dance teacher.

Sangvi police arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter repeatedly since November 2017. The girl confided in her teacher who lodged a police complaint, after which the accused was placed under arrest.

Police officials said that the minor girl has been staying with the accused since 2015. The accused runs a snacks stall at an IT company and also works as a part-time dance teacher.

According to police, the incident took place between November 2017 and August 10 this year. The accused threatened to kill the victim and her mother and then raped the minor. The FIR was registered on Tuesday.

Alka Sarag, assistant police inspector, who is investigating the case, said, “The accused was arrested and produced before a special court which remanded him in five days police custody. We have charged him for rape and criminal intimidation under the Indian Penal Code besides relevant Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Further investigations are on.”
