Pune’s Rohan More swims into Hall of Fame

Rohan is the 3rd Indian swimmer to receive this award after more than 30 years. Rohan completed his first marathon swim at the age of 11 and is on track to be the first swimmer from Asia to complete the ‘Oceans Seven’ challenge.

Swimmer Rohan Dattatrey More (30) will be honoured by the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF). He will receive the ‘Honouree Swimmer’ award of IMSHOF at London, United Kingdom on March 31, 2018.

Ned Danison ,executive chairman of IMSHOF committee announced that More will be inducted in the class of 2018 as Honouree Swimmer in IMSHOF through the official Facebook page of IMSHOF and on IMSHOF website.

Rohan is the 3rd Indian swimmer to receive this award after more than 30 years. Prior to this, Mihir Sen had received this honour in 1956 and after that Taranath Shenoy received the honour in 1987. However, Rohan is also the youngest swimmer on a list of swimmers attempting to cross the seven oceans of the world.

Rohan completed his first marathon swim at the age of 11 and is on track to be the first swimmer from Asia to complete the ‘Oceans Seven’ challenge.

Rohan has received the Tenzing Norgay Award from the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The award, also known as the National Adventure Award, was presented by Ram Nath Kovind President of India recently. When he is not swimming, Rohan More works as a software engineer in Pune.
